Celebrating our Journey, Embracing Hope

As Trauma Matters Omaha evolves, we reflect on the incredible impact we’ve made in our community. From its inception, we envisioned a city and surrounding communities steeped in empathy and understanding, where every individual is seen through a trauma-sensitive lens.

“What happened to you?” rather than “What is wrong with you?”

This shift in perspective has been revolutionary. It has laid the foundation for our city to take the lead in becoming a trauma-informed community. This pioneering initiative, spearheaded by Project Harmony, has united countless nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and for-profit companies under the banner of Trauma Matters Omaha.

Now, we embark on Phase II – Hope Champions. Drawing from over 2,000 research studies, we acknowledge that hope is the cornerstone of future well-being. It’s a beacon that guides us towards health, happiness, and fulfillment. This remarkable quality is both tangible and teachable, and it reinforces success in schools, workplaces, and life itself.

In this next phase, we aspire to infuse even more hope into our community, knowing that it will lead us to greater heights of well-being and prosperity. Together, as Hope Champions, we will continue to shape a future where compassion reigns, and hope thrives.

You are part of the solution.

The cycle of abuse does not have to continue, but we can’t end it alone. Anyone has the power to be someone who makes our community a safe place for all children.
